Hello fellow Co-op owners!

We can't wait to meet up with you face-to-face at the Annual Member Meeting next Thursday! We will meet at 6:30pm at the First Congregational Church of Walpole, which is located at 15 Washington Street on the Common in Walpole. We'll have light refreshments and you'll hear updates from the board, fellow volunteer organizers, and guest speaker Sara Powell from Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship, who will share what her organization has built to support farmers in our area. She'll talk about the Farm Business Lab class that they ran in partnership with CCCD and NCAT this past Spring. We're excited to learn more about it!

At the in-person meeting, masks will be optional. If you prefer to connect virtually, please reach out to info@greatriverfoodcoop.com to request a Zoom link. We look forward to connecting in whichever way works best for you!

For those member-owners who have completed their full membership, making them eligible to vote, we're sending out an email with a link to your 2022 ballot. Please vote! For election results to be binding, we need 20% of our voting membership to participate in the election. Your vote counts!

Our candidate for board membership, Laura Markiewicz, has been recently serving as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Great River Co-op. If you're looking for a volunteer opportunity, she can connect you to one! Laura grew up in Walpole and is happy to find a way to contribute to her home community, since she no longer lives in the area. Her work for the Co-op is done remotely from her home in Sudbury, Ontario, where she works as the chancellor and archivist for the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie. We hope to welcome her officially to the board!

Current board member and former board president Steve Fortier, of Alstead, NH, is up for re-election this year. His professional background and experience have allowed him to serve the board by leading our exploration of funding sources. He is currently the Executive Director of TwinState Makerspaces in Claremont, NH. We look forward to his continued service to our Co-op.
